NORTH KANSAS CITY, MO.—California has registered Rockwell Labs’ CimeXa Insecticide Dust for professional use against bed bugs, spiders, fleas, ticks, lice, roaches, ants, firebrats, silverfish, and mites. Of particular importance to California pest management professionals (PMPs): CimeXa is considered to be highly effective for the prevention and treatment of drywood termites, according to the company.

Rockwell Labs points out that CimeXa is not subject to California Prop 65 regulations. Compared to diatomaceous earth, CimeXa has much greater potency so control results will be at least three times faster.

The broad label allows the product to be used to treat cracks, crevices, voids, mattresses, carpets, pet rest areas, attics and many other areas.  Unlike other products, CimeXa can be applied as a dust, or can be mixed with water and applied as a spray, which leaves a fine coating of the dust adhered to surfaces without introducing large amounts of dust into the air.

The product is available in 1-qt. bottles, which hold 4 oz of the dust, and 5-gal. buckets, which hold 5 lbs. The standard usage rate is 2 oz per 100 sq. ft. CimeXa is available now through distribution.
