American Dryer Corp, which has been leading innovation in commercial and industrial dryers for 50 years, has introduced Exterm-A-Therm, its new, portable, eco-friendly heat remediation solution. The system uses controlled heat to eradicate bed bugs and other heat sensitive pests in a safe and environmentally friendly way. Manufactured in Fall River, Mass., Exterm-A-Therm is effective in even the deepest recesses of thick mattresses and couches, the company says. Its exclusive solution involves a specially designed, portable military-grade heat chamber and three proprietary electric heating units that heat the contents of the chamber to more than 120°F — deadly hot for bed bugs at all stages, but safe for most durable goods. A treatment cycle typically takes three to five hours from setup to conclusion, and the easy-to-use system operates with standard 120V outlets.
