Safer Home ServicesSafer Home Services has been selected as one of the semi-finalists for Tampa Bay, Fla.’s Bright House Networks Regional Business of the Year Awards in the Start-Up Category.

Companies are judged on their vision, growth, stability, innovation and community involvement by a panel of judges that includes business educators, local executives and local community leaders. Companies must be formed in the Tampa Bay region and compete for one of 11 prizes totaling $1 million in commercial TV production, air time, customer newsletter and cash in one of four categories: Small Business (five to 25 employees), Medium Business (26 to 100 employees), Large Business (101 to 500 employees), and Start-Up (one to three years in business).

The final phase of the judging is comprised of a formal interview with several Tampa Bay business leaders, and a review of financials by an independent Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Finalists will be announced in mid-December.

“I am very proud of our entire team to have brought us so far in less than two years,” says Safer Home Services President Jim Swayne. “Historically, the award in the Start-Up category has gone to a technology company, but I think we have a great story to tell. We have added over 1,000 new customers in less than 18 months and are getting rave reviews on the quality and value of our Once-A-Year Pest Protection service.”

Founded in 2014 by Swayne with fellow pest management industry veteran Chuck Steinmetz, the Clearwater, Fla.-based company covers all of Florida’s Pinellas County and recently expanded services into Tampa.
