Massey promotes Brown to director of agronomy

Eric BrownIn his new position as director of agronomy for Orlando-Fla.-based Massey Services, Dr. Eric Brown is responsible for managing agronomic programs for the GreenUP Landscape division.

Dr. Brown joined Massey Services in 2009 as a service manager. He most recently held the role of field training manager, where he trained GreenUP Landscape specialists in the principles of agronomy and assisted in the development of Massey’s agronomic programs.

“Dr. Brown’s knowledge as a soil scientist and a certified arborist makes him a tremendous asset to Massey Services,” says President Tony Massey. “His expertise in the horticultural industry will be instrumental in the research and development of future landscape programs with a continued strong focus on our environment. We congratulate him on this well-deserved promotion.”

Before his career at Massey Services, Dr. Brown was the owner and president of Turfgrass Doctors. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Florida Turfgrass Association, where he has been a member of the Scholarship and Research Committee. In addition, he has taught horticulture-related classes as an adjunct professor at various higher education institutions, including Rollins College, Valencia College, Seminole State College and Santa Fe College. Dr. Brown has also authored several articles in a variety of turfgrass trade publications.

Dr. Brown earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in soil and water science from the University of Florida.
