Joe Thomas, Chairman of the Board of Atlanta-based Arrow Exterminators, was inducted into the Georgia Pest Control Association’s (GPCA’s) Hall of Fame at its annual Winter Conference in Athens, Ga., Jan. 11. Thomas, a second-generation pest management professional (PMP), is also a member of PMP’s Hall of Fame, Class of 2009.

“Joe has always believed in giving back to the industry,” says Tim Pollard, senior executive vice president and COO of Arrow Exterminators. “From the very beginning when Joe ‘officially’ entered the industry in 1972, Joe served in leadership positions at the local and national levels, and continues to serve on the board of Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) and was one of the founding members of PPMA. Joe also continues to provide financial and personnel support to the Pest Management Foundation.”

Emily Thomas Kendrick, Thomas’ daughter and Arrow’s president and CEO, notes that her father “is not one to discuss his own achievements.”

“Dad’s leadership and vision throughout his 45-year-plus career at Arrow has led Arrow to become the sixth largest pest control company in the United States, and he continues to lead us and inspire us at Arrow as Chairman of the Board and owner,” she adds. “It is an absolute privilege to work alongside him every day.”
