Dold, a family man, community leader and small business owner said, “I am running to bring small business common sense to Washington.”
Dold was born and raised in the 10th District and is married with three small children. He’s a graduate of New Treir High School and holds a law degree and an MBA from Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. In addition to his business background, Dold previously worked in the White House and on Capitol Hill as counsel to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The announcement took place in Northfield, Ill. at Rose Pest Solutions, his third-generation family business, in existence since 1860.
“I understand what it means to meet a payroll each week. I understand what it means to create jobs and provide a person with a way to support a family. Our company has been directly impacted by the rising cost of health care and the ever-increasing taxes,” Dold said. “Small businesses today are struggling. Two-thirds of all jobs in our country are created through small businesses, yet less than 1-percent of the stimulus funds have been spent to help them. If elected, I will fight to promote policies that create new jobs for American workers.”
In addition, Dold is committed to reigning in federal spending. He believes we must return government spending to sustainable levels and reduce the massive projected debt levels for future generations.
