SUNNY ISLES, Fla. — Below are photos from the first day of Good to Great III: Built to Last, presented by the National Pest Management Association and sponsored by Bayer Environmental Science. Please visit Pest Control Presents to listen to two audio podcasts presenting live coverage of the event.

Rob Lederer, executive director of the National Pest Management Association, encourages Good to Great attendees to get on a first-name basis with each other.
Steve Burt, managing director, professional pest management, Bayer Environmental Science, said Good to Great is Backed By Bayer because the meeting provides a unique venue for close interaction and information sharing by today's and tomorrow's pest management leaders.
Andy Hobart, who oversees Rentokil's global pest management business, sees plenty of drivers for both continued consolidation and international expansion and cooperation.
Clarke Keenan, president of Waltham Services, said the industry could do a better job attracting and grooming young leaders.
Dan Meek, Bayer Environmental Science's termite market manager, discussed opportunities for revenue and profit growth, and customer service, satisfaction and renewal rate enhancements, when one uses Premise granuales and ready-to-use Premise foam in a can.
Vic Hammel, president of JC Ehrlich Co. and CEO of Rentokil North America, reminded attendees that pest management businesses in the United States have it pretty good with the average household's healthy disposable income and the constant pest pressures in so many markets.
Glen Rollins, Orkin's president and chief operating officer, asked Rentokil's Andy Hobart what other pest management company he admires most. Hobart's answer, after a bit of a pause, was Ecolab -- for its ability to successfully target high-end commercial accounts, and to sell them on its services, not just chemical applications.
