ON THE RECORD: Let Us Help You Sell Your Business

When you're a journalist, you crave reader feedback. You hope you'll write a story or make a point that inspires your audience to make their businesses better or take action.

 

Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, you typically only receive that feedback when you write something that makes people angry. Thankfully, journalists develop a thick skin and realize, most of the time, it's not personal.

 

It's a free country, after all, and how boring would it be if everyone agreed with your point of view?

 

That scenario, however, makes it special when someone sends you a note that lets you know your efforts are worthwhile. Pete Grasso, PMP managing editor, recently received such a note, the gist of which I'm going to share you to highlight another way you can use the articles you find in the pages of your magazine.

 

This pest management professional (PMP) dropped us a note to thank us for helping him sell his business to a new client. He was recently featured in the magazine and clipped that article to showcase the kinds of service his company can offer to potential clients.

 

The client was impressed. Using the article, this PMP believes, showed the client he was well-educated and cutting-edge in his approach to pest management.

 

We've long known from our proprietary research that PMPs use articles from the magazine to train technicians, sales managers and other members of their team. This PMP's idea — using the articles as educational tools for his customers and potential customers — is an interesting new twist. It's an idea I'm sure marketing guru Harvey Goldglantz would heartily approve of (and you can read more of his marketing ideas in his book), and we approve of it, too.

 

It's always our goal here at PMP to be a total, complete resource for PMPs who want their businesses to be successful, and we're pleased that we're able to help you in all aspects, from the office to the final sale.
