UPDATED 9 AM EST WITH HASSMAN/BEDBUG CENTRAL INFORMATION All year long, many pest management professionals (PMPs) give generously of their time, talent and treasure. Nowhere is that more true than during the holiday season.

Here’s a roundup of a few PMPs who are making the season a little brighter for their communities. Check back often, as we’ll be adding to this article all week long:

Tap Out Pest Control, Jersey City, N.J., joined New York Giants Wide Receiver Victor Cruz in filling a box truck of toys. Tap Out Owner Anibal Fonesa was one of several business owners who helped out with the drive, spearheaded by local shoe business Sneaker Room. Fonesa brought 100 toys and said it was time for him to “give back to the community.” Read the whole story here.

• In Rapid City, S.D., All Seasons Pest Control has partnered with the HOPE Center to bring five less-fortunate families free pest control services for the holidays. All Seasons has been providing free service for the HOPE Center for about six months. A case manager for Cornerstone Rescue Mission’s Women and Children’s Home is among the five selected. She, her fiancé and seven children had dealt with bed bugs in their home for two years. According to the Rapid City Journal, “the applicants that weren’t chosen will still get a call from the company and be given recommendations on what they can do to try to reduce or eliminate the problem themselves.” Read the whole story here.

• As noted in the McPherson (Kan.) Sentinel, for the sixth year in a row, Hassman Termite and Pest Control is participating in BedBug Central’s annual event, “Take a Bite Out of the Holidays”: It will provide free bed bug treatments to two deserving families. Since 2010, Hassman has provided more than $20,000 in charitable services through this program.
