Reading, Pa.-based Rentokil Steritech, a Rentokil North America company, acquired Johnson Pest Control, Sevierville, Tenn. The acquisition was finalized in May, but announced in August. Terms were not disclosed. PCO M&A Specialists, a division of PCO Bookkeepers headed by Pest Management Professional (PMP) financial columnist Dan Gordon, acted as exclusive financial advisor to Johnson Pest Control.

Johnson Pest Control was founded by PMP‘s”The Bottom Line” columnist Ray Johnson with his wife, Tammy, in 1984. Johnson offers general pest control, termite, mosquito, and bed bug services. All employees will remain on board with Rentokil Steritech. This was important to the Johnsons, as evidenced by Ray’s August column in PMP‘s August issue, “Employees are your biggest asset.”

“Tammy and Ray have built a world-class company that has an incredible reputation for delivering high-quality pest control services with a special caring touch that comes from a family-run operation,” said John Myers, president and CEO of Rentokil North America. “We are excited to welcome the Johnson Pest Control team to our North American organization, and look forward to continuing the tradition of community involvement that Tammy and Ray have established and to bringing an expanded range of services to Sevierville-area home and business owners.”

“We feel that Rentokil Steritech was the right fit,” Johnson said. “After 40 years of marriage, and 35 years in business, it was time for us to start thinking about retirement. We look forward to spending more time with our special needs son Grant in the future.”
