In 1991, Steve and Laurie Hawkins formed Desert Pacific Exterminators, focusing on the High Desert market in California. The family-owned company was voted “Best of the Best” in the Morongo Basin for the past six years.

“We had been in business for over 25 years so it was hard to hand over our company to just anyone,” say Steve and Laurie Hawkins in a joint statement. “The Aust Group was so helpful, and they immediately communicated expectations with us and helped us every step of the way.”

According to The Aust Group, the Desert Pacific’s strong ties to its community and its opportunities for growth make the company a great fit for the ServiceMaster team.

“Congratulations to Steve and Laurie Hawkins on building and growing a successful asset over the last 25 years — it was a pleasure to work with you both,” says Daniel Aust, director of mergers and acquisitions at The Aust Group. “This acquisition serves as a vehicle for Terminix International to add recurring customers and increase market share in San Bernardino County, California.”

This was the fifth transaction of the summer for The Aust Group.

Headquartered in Memphis, Tenn., Terminix services approximately 2.7 million residential and commercial customers in 47 states and 19 countries. It is a business unit of ServiceMaster Global Holdings, a provider of residential and commercial services. Terminix is also known as the “Official Pest Control Specialist of Minor League Baseball.”
