The Day of Service is new for 2019 and will take place on the last day of the conference. Here is the schedule of events:

  • 7 a.m.-8:30 a.m.: 5K fun run/walk sponsored by Professional Women in Pest Management to support Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
  • 9 a.m.-11 a.m.: NPMA will be manning the PestWorld Gives Back booth in the exhibit hall. All conference attendees can stop by to pack backpacks for underprivileged children and create hygiene kits for local shelter residents. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase – drawings for prizes will take place every half hour.
  • 12:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: PMPs can join members of the PestVets Committee as they perform ship restoration on the USS Midway, which was commissioned in September 1945. The ship is the longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century and was one of three aircraft carriers to feature an armored flight deck and an air group of 120 planes. The ship was used during the Cold War, Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
  • 1 p.m.-4 p.m.: Leadership Networking Community (LNC) will host an off-site volunteer opportunity at the Jacobs & Cushman San Deigo Food Back to provide hunger relief for the county. NPMA will provide transportation.

Pre-registration is available for the 5K fun run/walk, PestVets event and LNC event. Pledge your participation at the PestWorld Gives Back booth here so NPMA can send you updates about the event. You may also be entered to win an additional prize.
