Each year, the company selects sons or daughters of Rollins employees to receive the scholarship.

“We are committed to helping our employees and their families succeed, and the O. Wayne Rollins scholarship is one of many ways we are able to help,” says Jerry Gahlhoff, president of Rollins Specialty Brands and VP of human resources. “We are excited for these students and wish them the best during their college careers and beyond.”

This year, each scholarship winner will receive $3,000 for the school year. Students earn the scholarships for two to four years, depending on their coursework and the type of degree they are pursuing.

“I am extremely honored to receive the O. Wayne Rollins scholarship,” says Jacob Wenner, son of HomeTeam employee Denise Zavala. “My lifelong dream of designing and flying aircrafts is moving along due to this generous scholarship.”

Wenner is attending West Virginia University and is pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering.

“It’s an honor to be selected for the O. Wayne Rollins scholarship. Thank you for making a path to my future career,” says Cheniera McClee, daughter of Support Center employee Edwina Walters and nursing student at West Georgia Technical College.

Beginning in 2018, Rollins allocated more funds to the scholarship to support an additional five students each year. Prior to that, Rollins awarded scholarships to 10 students each year. The scholarship first began in 1968 and, in the past 20 years, has helped more than 200 college students.

Any child of a full-time Rollins employee who plans to attend college or trade school is eligible to apply for the award.
