Fumigation Service & Supply (FSS) Inc. hosted two educational sessions for the food industry Dec. 10 in Chicago, Ill., and Dec. 12 in Atlanta, Ga.
Rod Wheeler, world renowned expert on food security, discussed how to protect our world’s food supply against adulteration and terror threats. James White, a Safe Quality Food auditor and consultant with more than 30 years of experience in food plant auditing, presented on the food code and how to handle audits and auditors.
Representatives from Insects Limited Inc., Bayer, Pelsis, Woodstream and Liphatech offered perspectives on everything from the latest remote sensing technologies to the recent registration of CO2 as a pesticide for use in rodent burrows.
FSS’ John Moore, Pete Mueller, Jeff Waggoner and Josh Wilhelm presented on topics ranging from microbial control using chlorine dioxide, fumigation of commodity and structures, and the latest approach to pest management using a DynamicIPM approach.
“We are glad to have the opportunity to present the latest in the industry,” says Jeff Waggoner, VP and general manager of FSS. “Our service, product and education approach remains as much a focal point for FSS Inc. today as it did 37 years ago when the original purpose statement was written. It’s not easy to put together, and we thank all of our sponsors and attendees who made these events such a fun time. We enjoy ‘Sharing Through Education.'”
FSS’ next opportunity to learn from leaders in the global pest management industry will take place in Africa. The 14th Fumigants & Pheromones Conference, co-hosted by Insects Limited, will be held at Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, on May 12-14, 2020.
