EnviroPest, based in Fort Collins, Colo., collaborated with Whole Brain Consulting to host a Food Safety Summit.

On Jan. 14, more than 30 attendees visited the Budweiser Event Center, Loveland, Colo., to take advantage of the summit’s free training offered by EnviroPest. Those in attendance included all industries that are audited.

The inaugural event in Northern Colorado offered information on the Global Food Safety Initiative, the British Retail Consortium and other food safety issues that producers, manufacturers and distributors deal with on a daily basis.

“About half of the attendees were not clients of ours, so we were excited to provide this training to anyone who was interested,” said Kevin Lemasters, ACE, EnviroPest president.

Lemasters said the idea to host a summit came from a client visit last summer. The customer was impressed with EnviroPest’s work, and recommended a meeting to share EnviroPest’s work with the rest of the customer’s industry.

The event was focused on the customers and bringing them value, Lemasters said. Brandon Hernandez, cofounder of Whole Brain Consulting, spoke about helping companies improve their quality processes.

“EnviroPest has been very intentional in improving our processes in delivering the best service to our third-party, audited accounts,” Lemasters said.

Lemasters said attendee surveys after the event were all positive; many requested a longer and more thorough event if EnviroPest were to host the summit again next year.
