Bug Busters purchases Scott Exterminating

Bug Busters acquired Scott Exterminating, based in Hapeville, Ga. The acquisition allows Bug Busters to expand its footprint in the south metro Atlanta, Ga.

Scott Exterminating was founded in 1965. James O. Hewin has owned and operated the company since 1985.

Scott Exterminating provides pest and termite coverage to homes and business throughout Atlanta. With his team, Hewin grew Scott Exterminating into one of the most well-known pest management firms in the Atlanta market, according to a release by Bug Busters.

The team at Scott Exterminating will join Bug Busters, and will continue to operate from their current office location.

“We welcome the team members of Scott Exterminating, and (its) customers,” said Court Parker, COO of Bug Busters. “I have known Mr. Hewin for years and always looked up to him as leader in the industry. I am delighted to bring our two companies together to further expand our presence in Atlanta, Ga.”

The acquisition is Bug Busters’ second in the past two months. In December, Bug Busters acquired Divine T.E.A.M. Pest Control, based in Winder, Ga. That acquisition helped expand Bug Busters’ coverage of northeast Atlanta.

In addition to its service offices in Georgia, Bug Busters operates out of a Chattanooga, Tenn., office. Bug Busters was founded in 1984 and is a member of the National Pest Management AssociationGeorgia Pest Control AssociationCertified Pest Control Operators of Georgia, the Tennessee Pest Control Association and the South Carolina Pest Control Association.
