RatLite is designed specifically to protect a vehicle’s engine wires from rodents. The patented, recently upgraded device works by flash-blinding mice, rats and other pests when they enter an engine compartment (or similar dark, enclosed spaces like grills, sprinkler systems, etc.) by rapidly flashing both green and ultraviolet LED lights at approximately 10 times per second. The RatLite easily affixes to a flat surface with a supplied adhesive. It has its own power supply — flashing 24/7 and lasting for five years (40,000 hours), the company says — so no additional wiring or external power sources are needed.
