Orkin acquires Connecticut Pest Elimination

Connecticut Pest Elimination Inc., also known as CT Pest Elimination, has been acquired by Atlanta, Ga.-based Orkin. Terms were not disclosed; The Aust Group represented the Orange, Conn.-based firm as its exclusive financial advisor on the transaction.

“It was an honor and a pleasure to represent Michael and Mary Ann throughout the acquisition process,” Stuart Aust, director of The Aust Group, based in Vero Beach, Fla., said in a news release. “We feel this acquisition serves as a great fit for both parties, and are excited to see the future growth of Connecticut Pest Elimination with the Orkin team.”

“Working with The Aust Group was the best decision we could have made for brokering our business,” CT Pest Elimination co-owner Michael Lipsett said in the news release. “They were so professional and spent a lot of time preparing us for the sale in advance.”

Michael and Mary Ann Lipsett formed CT Pest Elimination in 1990 and scaled their business to become the largest privately held pest control operation in Connecticut. Michael has been involved in several industry organizations, with board seats on both the Connecticut Pest Management Association (CPMA) and the Connecticut Coalition Against Bed Bugs (CCABB).

CT Pest Elimination employs 60 employees and averages 40 vehicles on the road daily. The company is a member of both the CPMA and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA).
