Weed Man has expanded its latest service offering of mosquito control services into its own sub-brand, Mosquito Hero.

Weed Man — a network of locally owned and operated lawn care businesses providing fertilization, weed control and integrated pest management services — added mosquito control to its offerings more than a year ago.

“Our goal with Mosquito Hero was to create a separate brand name for this incredible service to give it the spotlight it deserves, while also furthering our mission of helping homeowners enjoy their yards,” Jennifer Lemcke, CEO of Weed Man, said in a news release.

A key emphasis behind Mosquito Hero’s service offering is safety. Another major focus with launching Mosquito Hero was the Weed Man franchisees. Mosquito Hero creates an additional recurring revenue stream and and exclusive add-on benefit for current franchise owners. So far, more than 180 Mosquito Hero addendums have been signed by Weed Man franchisees representing over 560 territories.

“Our franchisees are our greatest asset, and our focus was always on how we could enrich that relationship even more with a value add,” Lemcke said. “The franchisees have an opportunity to cross market to their existing customer base who already trust Weed Man professionals to service their home needs.”

Weed Man grew 13 percent year-over-year in 2020, and was once again on Entrepreneur magazine’s annual Franchise 500 list, earning the No. 102 spot in 2020.

Th company was founded in 1970 and started franchising in 1976. Weed Man now supports franchisees in more than 680 territories across North America.
