Neighborly names chief strategy and marketing officer

Neighborly, the Waco, Texas-based franchisor of Mosquito Joe and other home service brands, has named Dr. Roger Chacko its new chief strategy and marketing officer.

In his new role, Dr. Chacko will be responsible for the company’s marketing and strategy divisions. Neighborly currently employs associates in various marketing and strategy roles, and Dr. Chacko’s direction will be a driving force behind the organization’s future growth.

“To help build further on the growth momentum we have at Neighborly, I am delighted to welcome Roger Chacko to lead the marketing and strategy of our organization,” Mike Bidwell, president and CEO at Neighborly, said in a news release. “Chacko has a proven track record of developing and delivering segment-defining marketing and sales programs across several business segments and geographies.”

Dr. Chacko brings more than 25 years of global brand-building and corporate strategy to the chief strategy and marketing officer role. Previously, he worked as the chief commercial officer for Planet Fitness. He has also held various marketing, commercial and strategy roles with global companies including Carlson Hotel Group, Bloomin’ Brands, USAA, Kellogg’s and more.

Dr. Chacko earned his doctorate degree in management from Oklahoma State University, and his master’s degree in management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Neighborly is a holding company of 28 service brands, focused on repairing, maintaining and enhancing consumers’ homes and properties. Among its brands are Mosquito Joe, The Grounds Guys and more. The company was founded in 1981 as Dwyer Group and is based in Waco, Texas.

In 2020, the company acquired Dryer Vent Wizard, HouseMaster, ShelfGenie and Precision Door Service. Neighborly’s 4,500 franchises are located across nine countries.

So far in this year, Neighborly brands have been included on the 2021 rankings for Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 and Franchise Business Review’s Franchisee Satisfaction Awards. Plans are in place to open a second Neighborly headquarters office in Irving, Texas, in April 2021.
