Terminix acquires Pest Solutions

Memphis, Tenn.-based Terminix has acquired Pest Solutions, Beaverton, Ore. Terms were not disclosed; The Aust Group, Vero Beach, Fla., represented Pest Solutions.

As Pest Management Professional magazine reported in a profile in 2019, Pest Solutions Founder Eric Ufer got into the industry after a 17-year career on Wall Street and a few years of owning rental properties. Ufer and his team adopted the slogan “Green As Can Be” to emphasize their eco-friendly approach to pest management.

“When I decided I wanted to explore selling my company, it just made sense for me to utilize The Aust Group,” Ufer said in a news release. “They learned our company inside and out, and were able to tell our story extremely well.”

“It was an honor to represent Eric in the sale of his business, and we are confident that Pest Solutions will be a strong catalyst for growth in the Portland market,” Principal Stuart Aust said in the news release.

In 2006, Eric Ufer, Pest Solutions LLC’s founder, was hit for the first time with bed bugs on his rental properties. Costs went through the roof and the rental property revenues declined.  This event had a profound effect on how he  looked at pests and the risk they presented to his business. Eric had to look at the traditional pest control services he was paying for, its efficacy, the inconvenience to his tenants, and costs – both in lost revenues and sky high pest control charges.
