On April 22, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern, Professionals Empowering, Sustaining & Transforming (P.E.S.T.) Relief International will be a part of the Community Foundation of North Central Florida’s The Amazing Give Workday.  The event is Gainesville, Fla.’s “official day of giving, an opportunity to unite the community around causes in which we truly believe and help nonprofit organizations connect to the larger community,” according to a news release.

The annual fundraiser will raise money for nonprofits through a single online donation platform, providing a simple way to connect donors to the charitable causes they care about most and encourage them to take action.

This 12-hour online effort, hosted by the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, offers P.E.S.T. Relief International the chance to raise funds to support its critical mission for women and children who are survivors of domestic violence. Learn more information and how to donate here.

P.E.S.T. Relief International is hoping to raise $2,000 to distribute Bags of REST to women and children who are fleeing from family violence. Each bag includes a pillow, pillowcase, cozy blanket, and mattress and pillow protectors.

“We thank the Community Foundation of North Central Florida for this opportunity, and are excited to collaborate with the industry on a nationwide level on April 22,” Andrea Hancock, founder of P.E.S.T. Relief International and president of Mattress Safe, said in the news release. “We hope to spread comfort and relief to the courageous women who have taken a step toward freedom in their lives.”

P.E.S.T. Relief International has been making a difference since its beginnings in 2013. Among its most recent projects are mask donations; donating bed bug service to a local family in need in Atlanta, Ga.; providing clean bedding and more to a youth shelter in Denver, Colo.; helping residents of a Salvation Army shelter in Atlanta; and co-piloting a REST program in Florida, to name just a few.
