A-Abel changes name, expands services

This spring, A-Abel Exterminating officially changed its name to go2-pros Pest Control. The Dayton, Ohio-based firm’s outstanding shares were purchased Dec. 31, 2020, by longtime Co-owner Jay Moran and his family from friend and business partner Chuck Norman and his family. The Moran family also purchased the shares of TubMasters Renovation from the Norman family. As a result, the Moran family is now the sole owner of the pest control and bathtub renovation businesses. Jay has been in charge of the pest control operations since 1990, and will continue to be active in the management of the business.

“We are very excited about continuing to serve our many Miami Valley customers,” Jay said in a news release. “It’s difficult to find trustworthy contractors, so we strive to give our customers a great experience with ‘DONE. RIGHT. service.'”

The company also expanded its home services to include kitchen and bathroom renovations.

“Rebranding our name to go2-pros came about because we saw the need for professional home services in our area,” Jay said in the news release.

ABOUT go2-pros

The company’s history dates back to 1937, when it was founded as A-Abel Exterminating. Chuck Norman and Jay Moran purchased the small ($400,000) firm from the founder in 1989. They then both built upon and grew the customer base, expanding into heating and air conditioning, electrical services, rug and carpet cleaning, and home remodeling. As of 2021, the pest control, kitchen and bathroom renovation services are under the name go2-pros.

go2-pros is affiliated with the National Pest Management Association and the Ohio Pest Management Association, and it is an authorized user of both Sentricon and Termidor.
