California Pest Management, La Verne, Calif., donated a ballistic protective vest to the La Verne Police Department’s canine officer.
The donation is a continuation of the company’s support for the police department and the community.
The canine for the department is a three-year-old German Shepard named Dino. The department started the process to get a canine in August 2020, and Dino joined in December. Dino is the first canine officer for the city of La Verne.
The new vest donated by California Pest Management cost $1,800. This is the first time the company has purchased a vest for the department.
In addition to its first canine officer, the LaVerne Police Department consists of 40 sworn officers, 18 professional staff members, a Reserve Force of up to 25 officers and a Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol program consisting of 35 members, according to its website.
