Grupo Sasti, an environmental services company backed by Swiss private equity firm Ufenau Capital Partners, acquired a major stake in Ezsa, a pest control market leader in Spain and Portugal.

Ezsa, based in Burgos, Spain, employs more than 140 professionals. The terms were not disclosed.

With the addition of Ezsa, Grupo Sasti will be among the Top 3 players in the pest control market in Spain and Portugal with more than 400 employees, according to a news release. The founders of Ezsa will reinvest significantly in the group and will continue to be on the leadership team, helping to manage the business.

“The integration and reinvestment in Grupo Sasti is truly exciting to us since the new group will enable multiple synergies and great growth options through complementary services,” Alberto, Javier and Ignacio Santamarta, second-generation founders and general managers of Ezsa, said in the news release.

Ralf Flore, managing partner at Ufenau, added, “Ezsa is a fast-growing specialist excelling in a sector that is critical for public health. The group combines the experience of four highly successful companies that provide very specialized and critical services. Ufenau is delighted to continue to support the entire group in its future growth.”
