The Aust Group announced the acquisition of its client Pest Shield Corp. by JP McHale Pest Management, an Anticimex company.

Founded in 1932 by Joseph Stangel, Pest Shield Corp. is a third-generation pest and termite control company based in Suffern, N.Y. Joseph’s son Barry, a pest control industry veteran, took ownership of the company with his wife, Lucile. Their daughter Laura then joined the business and later became the majority owner of Pest Shield Corp. in 1998.

Under Laura’s leadership, the company expanded its influence throughout greater Rockland County, N.Y., earning a reputation for professionalism and service over its 90-year history. Pest Shield Corp. has been long standing members of both National Pest Management Association (NPMA) and the New York Pest Management Association (NYPMA).

“I’ve always admired the business Barry, Lucile and Laura have built from afar,” Jim McHale, president of JP McHale Pest Management said in the news release. “Working with them through this process was everything I suspected and more. We are over the moon to have Laura on our team and have Pest Shield join the JP McHale Pest Management family.”

The Aust Group represented Pest Shield Corporation on the transaction. The transaction closed on May 16, 2023, and the terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Law Offices of Mark H. Ruff, P.A. represented Pest Shield Corp. as legal counsel.
