Abell Pest Control promoted three employees to its executive team.

Brett MacKillop is promoted to president; Sara Cromwell to vice president of people excellence; and Mike Heimbach to the role of vice president of business development.

“Over the past century, Abell Pest Control has been at the forefront of pest management, diligently protecting countless homes and businesses from pest pressures,” said John Abell, CEO of Abell Pest Control. “Brett’s well-deserved role as president and the additions of Mike and Sara to our executive team paves the way for our continued success and growth as we embark on our second century.”

MacKillop, a 40-year company veteran, joined Abell as a route manager in the Toronto, Ontario branch. Throughout his career, MacKillop has held numerous positions, including service manager, branch manager, district manager, regional vice president and technical director. A graduate from the University of Guelph with a degree in biology, MacKillop is a past president of the Structural Pest Management Association of Ontario, a member of the Copesan Technical Committee, and a part of the industry/government working group that managed the phaseout of ozone-depleting products. He currently serves on the National Pest Management Association’s (NPMA) Nominating Committee.

Cromwell brings more than 20 years of human resource experience to her role. A 10-year veteran of the company, Cromwell, a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), is actively involved in the NPMA’s Workforce Development Committee and its Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Steering Committee. She is also a member of NPMA’s Quality Pro Board of Directors and Professional Women in Pest Management Council.

With more than 15 years of experience at Abell, Heimbach brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his role. He joined Abell in 2008 as a marketing manager, but before that held positions as general manager and CEO and Canadian vice president of Canada’s largest lawn care company.
