American Pest CEUs, a national continuing education university created by professional pest control veterans with more than 150 years of combined industry knowledge, now offers online continuing education unit (CEU) courses. The American Pest team developed content that offers a variety of study guides, license renewal options, technical training, leadership courses, and an exclusive Pest Broker Education series that specifically identifies key concepts to creating business value. The university’s mission is to educate business owners and their leaders about planning and development in a competitive market.
The team behind American Pest CEUs includes:
- Rick Haney entered the pest control industry in 1981; founded his own termite and pest control company in 1990; and retired in 2015. Today, he is an industry consultant and a co-founder of American Pest CEUs.
- Jack and Nanette Launius have been working in the pest control industry for nearly 40 years, including 16 years as business owners. Retirement didn’t last long: With many years of experience in writing continuing education courses for his employees, Jack was aware of what the industry needed and was eager to get involved writing courses for other licensees. A few months later, Nanette joined the team. The couple works diligently with state departments to get the courses approved and course attendance updated. Nanette also helps with the website and customer service.
- Tam Dosenbach completed her education at DePaul University in Chicago, Ill., receiving bachelor degrees in business administration and civil engineering in 1990. She also holds a master’s of business administration degree in finance, and certificates in mediation, arbitration, and insolvency law from DePaul’s College of Law. Dosenbach began her career with Orkin as a commercial sales representative and continued her career in pest control after completing a two-year assignment as liaison between consulting (EPA) and contracting on constructing the first ozone-generated water treatment facility in the United States. Later, Dosenbach returned to the pest control industry in leadership positions and served as regional director over a five-state region before going out on her own. Dosenbach currently represents pest control industry acquisitions; prepares sales contracts; consults license needs; and provides business valuation in accordance with court orders requiring the separation of assets.
- Shaun Reeves, ACE, has been in the pest control industry since 1999 and is a Certified Pest Control Operator in eight states.He decided to get into the continuing education business in 2013 after attending conferences and realizing that the he could help make a difference in how CEUs were presented and offered.
