Waynes acquires Bugs-B-Gone

The Potomac Co.’s client Bugs-B-Gone was recently acquired by Waynes, an Anticimex company.

This move is expected to make changes in the industry dynamics, allowing Waynes to leverage Bugs-B-Gone’s strengths and reputation for growth in the southern U.S.

Bugs-B-Gone has been a pest control provider in Columbus, Miss., for more than 20 years. Since its start in 2000, the company has built a reputation for delivering effective pest control solutions, specializing in serving communities in Mississippi and Alabama for both residential and commercial clients.

Waynes Pest Control is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., and is part of the Anticimex family of companies. With over 150,000 customers across Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi, Waynes is a provider of termite, pest, lawn care, and mosquito services.

Owners of Bugs-B-Gone, Daphne Palmer and Everett Pennington, said in the news release, “We are excited about this new chapter for Bugs-B-Gone. Becoming a part of Waynes allows us to take our service to the next level and offer even more effective and eco-friendly solutions for our clients. Our values and commitment to top-notch pest control services align perfectly with Waynes, and we look forward to the future with great enthusiasm.”

Paul Giannamore and Franco Villanueva-Meyer of The Potomac Co. acted as exclusive financial advisors to Bugs-B-Gone in this transaction.

Northrim Horizon acquires Budget Brothers Termite & Pest

The Potomac Co. announced the acquisition of its client Budget Brothers Termite &. Pest by Northrim Horizon, an investment firm, located in Mesa, Ariz.

Jeff Miklus started Budget Brothers Termite & Pest in 2004 in his garage with over a decade of experience in the pest control industry. Soon, the one-man operation grew quickly in Phoenix, Ariz., with the company offering pest, termite, rodent and bird services to its residential and commercial customers. With a goal of becoming a paperless company, Miklus developed and purchased its own customizable software company used to advertise its many services. This aided in the company’s significant growth throughout Phoenix.

The acquisition aligns with Northrim Horizon’s dedication to sustainability and environmentally responsible pest control services. With this transaction, Budget Brothers Termite & Pest will continue to deliver safe, effective and eco-friendly pest protection to homes and businesses.

In the news release, Miklus said, “We are excited to join forces with Northrim Horizon. This partnership will enable us to expand our reach and provide even more comprehensive pest control services to our valued customers.”
