Arthur Dales, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based technical manager for British industry manufacturer Pelsis, died at the age of 67 on Dec. 22, 2023.

In a statement from the Pelsis team, “With over 40 years dedicated to the pest control industry, Arthur’s impact was immeasurable. Formerly with Rentokil and later joining Brandenburg (acquired by Pelsis), he brought an unparalleled expertise to the realm of insect light traps. A true advocate for end-users, he tirelessly worked to enhance communication between manufacturers and technicians.  Beyond his technical expertise, Arthur was a man of diverse passions and hobbies, cherishing every adventure and connection. We will deeply miss Arthur’s easy-going nature and wonderful sense of humor.  Arthur’s absence leaves a void, but his legacy persists in the strides he made for our industry. We express gratitude for the time shared with him and the invaluable contributions he leaves behind. He will be dearly missed, and his spirit will continue to inspire us all.”

According to his obituary, Dales was born on April 18, 1956, in Cleethorpes, U.K., to the late Bryan and June Dales.

Dales graduated with a bachelor of science in botany and zoology from The University of London, Goldsmith’s College in 1977. He went on to work as a biologist for Rentokil, Brandenburg NA and Pelsis. His numerous hobbies included cheese making, computer programming, stamp collecting, coin collecting, photography, reading, electronics and listening to classic rock music. Dales was well noted for his “easygoing nature and wonderful sense of humor.”

Dale is survived by his wife, Gillian; son, Alex; sister, Kirsten Drury; brother, Robert Dales and sister-in-law June Dales; sister-in-law, Jennifer Worton; brother-in-law, Roger Worton and sister-in-law Margaret Worton; nieces, Sarah Worton, Elsie Dales, Bryannie Drury and Emerald Roach; nephews, Nicholas Worton, James Dales and Atlas Drury-Myers.

    My heartfelt condolences to Arthur’s family. I worked for Rentokil in Florida. I learned a lot from Arthur and thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humor. My prayers for his family. He will be greatly missed.
