Orkin recently opened a new residential branch in Fort Myers, Fla., on Jan. 10.

The new location will offer pest control services to homeowners from Marco Island to Port Charlotte in Florida. Local community members were invited to a BBQ to celebrate the grand opening at the location on Jan. 10.

The Fort Myers branch is an expansion of Orkin’s services in southwest Florida following Hurricane Ian in 2022, which damaged the original branch location. Given Florida’s susceptibility to pest pressures through inviting year-round temperatures and hurricane threats, this additional location will support the demand for ongoing pest needs in the area.

“Following the devastation of Hurricane Ian, we are thrilled to open our latest Orkin branch to service residents of the Fort Myers area,” Greg Saladino, regional manager of Central Florida at Orkin, said in the news release. “As the demand for quality residential pest control services continues to grow, so does our team. This new location will allow us to develop relationships and deliver services to more homeowners across several counties in our region.”

The location is hiring Orkin Pro technicians and sales team members, in addition to select management positions. Orkin encourages employment within the military community, making a hiring pledge in 2023 to double its current number of Veteran employees to represent 10 percent of its overall workforce.
