In 1924, from humble beginnings in the basement and garage of his home in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Earl Abell founded pesticide manufacturer Waverly Chemical Co. In the 100 years since, the company, today known as Abell Pest Control, has grown into a North American leader in pest control services.

Earl’s vision was carried forward by his son Ralph, who led the company from 1945 to 1985. To commemorate Abell’s centennial year, Ralph’s son John and granddaughter Liz, along with President Brett MacKillop, visited each Abell office, sharing stories, memories and gratitude with employees who have contributed to the company’s growth and success.

On their tour of branches spanning across Canada and the United States, the trio engaged each team in meaningful initiatives aimed at giving back. From planting trees to volunteering at food banks, and assembling care packages for shelters, the company has demonstrated its dedication to making a positive impact where its employees live and work.
