Redd Pest Solutions shared the passing of Ken Davis, its former operations manager and beloved member of the Redd family. Ken retired in December 2024 after a remarkable 45-year career in the pest control industry.

Davis began his pest control career with Terminix in 1979. Over the course of more than three decades, he built a distinguished career there, starting as a technician and rising to sales associate, branch manager, technical specialist and ultimately region manager. During his tenure, Ken also led the ASPIRE program, which trained and educated employees in the field of entomology, leaving a lasting impact on countless pest management professionals.

After retiring from Terminix in 2015, Ken was approached in 2017 by Gordon Redd with an invitation to join Redd Pest Solutions. When considering the opportunity, Ken expressed words that captured his values and what he ultimately found at Redd:

“If I’m going to come back to work, this is the kind of company that I think I want to join. And I found out later, you guys know, it’s not a company, it’s a family, and I was so happy to learn that.”

Ken officially joined Redd Pest Solutions in February 2018, bringing decades of experience, leadership and a love for teaching. He served with distinction until his retirement in December 2024, closing out a remarkable career that spanned 45 years.

Along the way, Ken achieved some of the highest honors in the industry. He became a Board Certified Entomologist and, in 2022, was inducted into the Mississippi Pest Control Association Hall of Fame. His passion for insects even carried a personal touch, with the saw-toothed grain beetle holding the spot as his favorite.

Ken also offered guidance to the next generation of pest control professionals:

“Give it at least a year before you decide if this is the right business for you. Don’t make a short decision that might end your career. You have to be invested.”

And when asked by Chris Mosley why he chose to come out of retirement and spend his twilight years with Redd Pest Solutions, Ken shared words that reflect both gratitude and loyalty:

“The longer I stayed here the more I could see this was not a job. This is really, as I say, a family, because it is. The respect that is shown to newer and older employees is just a great atmosphere. You don’t find that very often. When you find it you better, even on a bad day, you better hang on to it.”

Ken will be remembered not only for his extraordinary accomplishments, but also for the kindness, wisdom and encouragement he shared with everyone around him. He was known for his professionalism, his generosity of spirit, and his ability to make those around him better.
