Control Solutions Inc. (CSI), a Pasadena, Texas-based specialty chemical manufacturer, has appointed industry veteran Sam Pass as its head of sales. In his new role, Pass will oversee sales for the company’s five business units: CSI-Pest, Quali-Pro, Production Animal, Martin’s and Industrial Sales.
“I am fortunate to inherit a strong sales management team. We have five talented and long-tenured business directors that I am excited to work alongside,” Pass, a second-generation pest management professional (PMP), noted in the news release.
Since joining CSI in January 2022, Pass has made a significant impact across multiple business areas. Initially leading the marketing team, he later took on the challenge of heading the Professional Pest Control (PCO) team, driving growth and alignment in both roles. During his tenure, Pass also earned his master’s in business administration (MBA) degree from Carnegie Mellon University, further enhancing his leadership and strategic expertise.
Before joining CSI, Pass served as the pest control and nursery greenhouse market manager for FMC Corp. in Philadelphia, Pa. Among his notable achievements, he successfully led the 2019 launch of a new insecticide product, resulting in strong market adoption and measurable financial success.
Pass’ career in the pest management industry began long before his corporate leadership roles. A graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor of science degree in entomology and nematology, he spent more than five years as a technician at his family’s company, Action Pest Control in Evansville, Ind.
“Sam’s leadership, strategic vision, and deep understanding of both our markets and our customers make him the perfect choice to lead CSI’s sales organization,” Trey Kendrick, head of Commercial Unit, APS and general manager, CSI said in the release. “We’re excited to see his continued impact as we expand our presence across all business units.”
About Control Solutions Inc.
Control Solutions Inc. (CSI) is a hybrid manufacturer featuring a broad spectrum of post-patent and innovative products. CSI operates through four main divisions: CSI Pest, Quali-Pro, CSI Production Animal and Martin’s, each focusing on different aspects of pest control, turf and ornamental, animal health, and consumer products.
CSI leverages its position as a subsidiary of the ADAMA Group, one of the world’s largest agricultural chemical companies, to access a wide range of active ingredients and offer an extensive product portfolio.
The company can actually trace its roots to 1958, when former president and CEO Mark Boyd’s father, Richard, purchased a small pest control company in Pasadena and founded Ford’s Pest Control. By 1960, Richard Boyd launched Ford’s Chemical to formulate and sell pest control solutions to colleagues and the public. In 1976, he merged the two businesses into Ford’s Chemical and Service.
