The Idaho Pest Management Association (IPMA) hosted the 2025 Idaho Pest Exposition, held at the Galaxy Event Center, Meridian, Idaho. December
This year was well attended by PMPs, with two presentations on rat control holding particular attention:
- Jim Shaver of Catchmaster hosted a session covering using Rodent behavior as well as strategy, tools, and tactics for trapping rodents in and around structures.

- Timothy Madere, urban rodentologist for the City of New Orleans, covered IPM, rodent behavior, structural problems that invite them, baiting and trapping methods and much more.

Besides rats, mouse control remained a hot topic as Boise, Eagle, Meridian and Idaho’s Treasure Valley have struggled with field mice that have affected homes for the past several years. Other topics covered in this year’s educational sessions included: backyard mosquito control, small fly control methods, understanding ant behavior and the chemistry used to treat them and the latest technology in pest control.
