During the 2026 NPMA Legislative Day in Washington, D.C., Syngenta demonstrated its commitment to advancing education in entomology through its continued annual support of the Pi Chi Omega Scholarship Program.
At this year’s event, Pi Chi Omega immediate past president Dr. Cassie Krejci, BCE, with FORSHAW, alongside Pi Chi Omega member Casey Prewitt with Neogen, accepted Syngenta’s generous $4,500 contribution. The donation was presented by Berry Cothern and Marshall Gaster of Syngenta.
Syngenta’s consistent support year after year plays a vital role in sustaining Pi Chi Omega’s scholarship program, which provides financial assistance to students pursuing degrees in entomology and closely related fields. Thanks to contributions from dedicated partners like Syngenta, Pi Chi Omega awards six scholarships annually, ranging from $2,500 to $3,500, to undergraduate and graduate students committed to advancing the science of pest management.
“At Syngenta, supporting the Pi Chi Omega scholarship fund really means a lot to us,” said Berry Cothern, regional sales manager at Syngenta, in a news release. “It’s about giving back to the pest control industry that’s given so much to all of us and helping young folks get the education and leadership skills they need to do things the right way. We’re proud to play a small part in shaping the future of this industry.”
“Syngenta’s loyal and generous support year after year has been critical in maintaining our scholarship program,” added James Miller, president of Pi Chi Omega. “As an organization, our mission is to foster education and encourage excellence in the field of urban entomology. Syngenta’s continued partnership empowers us to invest in future leaders who will shape the science and service of pest management for decades to come.”
For decades, Pi Chi Omega has remained committed to fostering education, leadership and professional development within the pest management community. Contributions from industry leaders like Syngenta help ensure the continued growth and success of the scholarship program and the students it serves.
