Smith Exterminating Company, based in the Raleigh-Durham, N.C. area, is celebrating 50 years of service in 2018. The company has experienced steady growth over the years, with annual revenues reaching more than $3 million in 2017. The company has roughly 10,000 customers and more than 40 employees — several of whom have been with the company for nearly 30 years.
Smith Exterminating Company was founded by TC Smith in 1968. It was later purchased by Jim and Lucy Clark, then Mack Langdon in 1997. In 2017, pest control leader Environmental Pest Service acquired Smith’s parent company Allied Professional Services, which operates Wood Termite & Pest Control and MelvinSWAT Termite & Pest Control in Smithfield, N.C., Smith Exterminating Company in Raleigh, and Action Termite & Pest Control in Wilmington, N.C.
“For 50 years, our company has been located within the same square mile and has come to love our community and our customers. We’re thrilled to celebrate this exciting company milestone,” says Josh Langdon, director of operations for Allied Professional Services, parent company of Smith Exterminating Company.
