Western Pest donates services for Boy Scout fundraiser

October 26, 2020

Western Pest Services, a subsidiary of Rollins Inc., donated two disinfection treatments for a local Boy Scout Troop to have its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser.

The disinfection service was provided at Troop 150’s venue and charter organization, the Sparta United Methodist Church in Sparta, N.J. The Boy Scout Troop collected a record $4,202, a 20 percent increase from the Troop’s fundraiser last year’s.

Western Pest Services added Western PurClean to its offerings earlier this year during the COVID-19 pandemic. The treatment works to kill a large spectrum of pathogens and help stop the spread of viruses. In addition to misting into difficult-to-reach areas, the treatment focuses on wiping down high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops and seating areas.

“Sparta Troop 150’s spaghetti dinner fundraiser supports the Adopt-a-Family program in our area, meaning that several families were at risk of not receiving support if this event didn’t happen,” said Jason Pennington, senior account executive at Western Pest Services. “Treating the commercial kitchen this troop used both before and after with a Western PurClean service helped to ensure a safe and sanitary fundraiser. We feel honored to have been trusted by the Sparta United Methodist Church and Sparta Troop 150.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has deemed the product used in the Western PurClean disinfectant treatment to have the lowest level toxicity rating and contains no ozone-harming compounds, making it low risk for people and pets as well as the environment. It is rated “no rinse required on food contact surfaces” by NSF International so it can be used on food preparation surfaces without the need to wash or rinse the area with water after.

Western Pest Services has been providing pest control services since 1928. The company serves customers in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
