Birmingham, Ala.-based Waynes Pest Control, an Anticimex company, recently acquired American Pest Control.

Headquartered in Vestavia Hills, Ala., American Pest Control has been serving the Birmingham area for three generations. American Pest Control operates in multiple locations in the greater Birmingham area including Mountain Brook, Homewood, Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Bessemer, Cullman and Shelby County.

“We are thrilled to welcome the American Pest Control team to the Waynes family,” said Shawn Hollis, president of Waynes Pest Control. “This acquisition is particularly special as Birmingham is home to our corporate headquarters and where it all began nearly 50 years ago. American Pest Control is the perfect fit for Waynes, and we count it a privilege to home the Mote family legacy as we provide world-class service every time to their customers.”

“Since 1945, American Pest Control has kept its Alabama clients pest-free with the latest in safe, effective termite and pest applications,” said Steve Mote, president of American Pest Control. “My grandfather started this company, so it’s a bittersweet moment to let it go; however, the entire team is excited about the Waynes acquisition because we know their company is a great match for American Pest’s company history and culture. Our technicians are looking forward to working with Waynes to continue providing our customers with the best preventative maintenance and safe, efficient pest elimination.”

Paul Giannamore and Franco Villanueva-Meyer of The Potomac Company represented and acted as exclusive financial advisors to American Pest Control in this transaction.
