Chris Del Rossi, ACE, founder and president of the Food and Drug and the Bug, was awarded the 2023 Barlett W. Eldredge Award by the New England Pest Management Association (NEPMA).
Del Rossi is a veteran of the structural pest control industry. For the past 20 years, he has been working with and training food and medicine manufacturers to best understand the importance of pest prevention. He often is asked to consult and mediate U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) closures, seizures and product recalls due to unsanitary pest issues. In addition, he is a consultant and trainer for other pest management companies, as well as major food corporations, to help the two industries harmonize and collaboratively solve and prevent pest problems, his company’s website says.
The Bartlett W. Eldredge Award is the NEPMA’s highest award. It recognizes an individual who has made a long-term commitment to the betterment of the pest control industry in New England. Candidates for this award exemplify strong service to the industry, a commitment to community service, and an overall acknowledgment by his/her peers within the industry.
Nominations are due annually by Nov. 1. Nominations for the award are now available.
You may nominate more than one person, but are asked to please submit a separate survey for each. An individual can only win the award once. The recipient of this award will be well known to many, and each year many nominations for deserving candidates are received. The board of directors looks at the nominations and selects one recipient. Unlike the other NEPMA awards, this is not a double-blind process.
The winner will receive an eagle award and industry recognition. The Bart Eldredge Award is presented at the annual dinner in December.
