Cetane Associates, a New Milford, Conn.-based financial advisory and transaction firm providing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) expertise to the home services industries, announces that PestCo Holdings — a portfolio company of private equity firm Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), based in St. Louis, Mo. — has acquired Enviro-Safe Pest Control, headquartered in Perrineville, N.J. The transaction was completed on May 21.
Enviro-Safe was founded and incorporated in 1981 by Jeff Glenn, who has remained the sole owner since its inception. The company initially offered night services and created a niche market with restaurants, soon expanding to service notable clients including schools and several diners. In 1982, per a news release from Cetane, Enviro-Safe gained valuable experience in cockroach baiting techniques “while working with American Cyanamid at its Shulton [Inc.] facility, where Maxforce Roach Bait was invented. Over the years, Enviro-Safe developed expertise in pest management for supermarkets, restaurants and warehouses. By the late 1990s, the company had implemented roach baiting techniques across all its restaurant clients, solidifying its reputation in the industry.”
“We are delighted that PestCo will be continuing the business. Our sincere gratitude goes to the Cetane team for guiding us through this transaction with such care and expertise,” Glenn said in the news release.
PestCo is a holding company of residential and commercial pest prevention and control services in the United States. Senior Associate Tim Dubis noted in the news release, “Jeff built a remarkable business, and we are honored that he chose PestCo to continue serving their customers.”
Added Bob Williamson, Cetane Associates’s Pest & Lawn director and a Pest Management Professional online columnist, “It was a pleasure working with Jeff through the transaction process. We wish him the best in all his future endeavors.”
Cetane served as the sole arranger for Enviro-Safe Pest Control. Cetane advised on the sale, including an initial valuation opinion, marketing the business through a confidential process, assisting in negotiating the final deal terms, and coordinating the due diligence process. Team members Williamson, Barrett Conway, Duncan McMurchie and Dalton Brooks managed the transaction.
