Laurel, Miss.-based Holifield Pest Management celebrated the grand opening of its new Metro office in Flowood, Miss. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Flowood Chamber of Commerce and a special live broadcast from SuperTalk Mississippi’s Midday Program with Gerard Gibert.
The event marked a milestone in the company’s continued growth and expansion across Mississippi, reinforcing Holifield Pest Management’s commitment to serving families and businesses with trusted, local pest management solutions since 1988.
The grand opening
Festivities began at 10:00 a.m. as Gerard Gibert broadcast live from the new Metro office, highlighting not only Holifield Pest Management’s expansion but also the importance of supporting Mississippi-owned small businesses and the vital role they play in strengthening the state’s economy. The live broadcast created a unique platform to spotlight local business growth and community investment, with several local leaders and industry professionals joining the program for special segments throughout the day.
Among those featured was Dr. Santos Portugal, who spoke about the importance of professional pest management and the impact it has on protecting homeowners’ investments. “Your home is your biggest investment you will ever make and that is what these professionals do is protect that investment,” said Dr. Santos Portugal, in a news release. Portugal also recognized Holifield Pest Management’s commitment to ongoing education and technician development, stating, “Holifield is a company that is willing to put their technicians through my training programs.”
Mississippi Agriculture Commissioner Andy Gipson also shared his support for the company’s continued growth in the Metro area. “It’s great to see a successful pest control company continue to expand in Rankin County. I know it will be a great service for the people in this area,” said AG Commissioner Andy Gipson.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at 1:00 p.m., commemorating the opening of Holifield Pest Management’s newest location and its continued mission to provide reliable, professional pest control services while creating jobs and investing back into Mississippi communities.

The new Metro office will allow Holifield Pest Management to better serve the central Mississippi area and surrounding communities with residential and commercial pest management services, while continuing its commitment to technician training, customer education and industry-leading service standards.
