Products such as Demand CS insecticide and Tandem insecticide are effective control options backed by science and rigorous field-testing.

Syngenta

RECENT INNOVATIONS: Syngenta is committed to delivering proven bed bug solutions that can help PMPs simplify applications and achieve reliable results. Products such as Demand CS insecticide and Tandem insecticide are effective control options backed by science and rigorous field-testing.

Demand CS with iCAP technology, powered by the active ingredient lambda-cyhalothrin, delivers quick knockdown and long-lasting control of bed bugs as well as more than 30 additional pests. Tandem, which combines the active ingredients lambda-cyhalothrin and thiamethoxam, provides dual-action control with fast results and extended residual on bed bugs and more than 90 other pests.

The industry needs new solutions for bed bug control that can address resistance issues, provide flexible uses and maintain favorable safety profiles. Keep an eye out for more products to come featuring PLINAZOLIN technology, which is the first novel active ingredient and mode of action in the pest control market in two decades. Studies show PLINAZOLIN technology has demonstrated excellent efficacy against various bed bug strains, including highly resistant strains. Its resistance management capabilities, in addition to its nonrepellent, nonpyrethroid chemistry, will be key to providing a bed bug solution on which PMPs can rely.

PREDICTIONS: We see PMPs’ bed bug toolboxes becoming more diversified and less reliant on pyrethroids alone. Nonrepellent chemistries like PLINAZOLIN technology likely will play a larger role, especially for resistant populations, alongside stronger IPM programs using monitoring, heat, vacuuming, encasements and targeted applications. Overall, the toolbox will shift toward more flexible, resistance-conscious solutions that can help improve control while minimizing disruption to customers.
