Along with the major concerns regarding bed bugs in mattresses and box springs, remember that upholstered furniture is another common hiding place for these pests. PMPs should advise the disposal of sofas and chairs because of the likelihood of bed bugs harboring in the upholstery, decking and wooden crevices.

Upholstered furniture ranks among the most prevalent locations for bed bug infestations and can be protected with furniture encasements. These encasements are designed to fully cover the furniture and feature a bite-proof fabric with a zipper enclosure.

Treating upholstered furniture for bed bugs is particularly challenging. But by using a furniture encasement, any missed bed bugs, instars or eggs will be trapped inside. This provides customers with greater peace of mind and assurance in their efforts to combat these pests.
