The Pest Management Foundation (PMF) has established the E. Raymond Crim III Scholarship, by Arrow Exterminators.
E. Raymond Crim III served the pest control industry throughout his 44-year career. After 25 years with Arrow Exterminators, he officially retired in January 2016.
“Ray Crim’s career is a remarkable example of what can be accomplished through hard work, integrity, and a commitment to serving others,” Arrow CEO Emily Thomas Kendrick said in the news release. “From his military service in Vietnam to his decades of leadership within the pest management industry, Ray has left a lasting legacy that continues to inspire future generations. We are proud to honor that legacy through this annual $1,000 scholarship.”
About the E. Raymond Crim III Scholarship
Award Amount: One award per year totaling $1,000
Arrow Exterminators established the E. Raymond Crim III Scholarship to honor Crim’s commitment to the pest management industry and his military service. This scholarship will be awarded annually, with preference given to applicants with military service and those whose families serve in the pest control industry. Scholarship applications will be accepted from Oct. 1 through Nov. 30 annually.
Eligibility criteria
- Full-time student in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate college students majoring in any field
- Priority given to active military service members or those with military service history
- Priority given to those whose families serve in the pest management industry, or those who demonstrate a meaningful connection to the pest management industry through academic research, professional experience, or other relevant exposure
Application requirements
- Resume or curriculum vita
- Current unofficial academic transcript
- A one-page (minimum) essay describing applicant’s professional goals and aspirations and how he/she plans to use their studies to contribute to their field of study
- At least one letter of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant’s work ethic, academic progress, and how he/she plans to use their studies to contribute to their field
- Other supporting documents (research papers and proposals, faculty research participation, related industry internship participation, fellowship projects, industry work experience, etc.) can also be submitted
- Recipients must commit to writing a letter of appreciation outlining how the scholarship has helped them in their academic endeavors
