With ant infestations quickly becoming more prominent than even those of the mighty cockroach, pest management professionals (PMPs) will certainly benefit from effective, new products that can help grow their business potential in an expanding market. One new product, Eclipse Professional Insect Bait from Zoecon, has been introduced for that very purpose.

Approved for both indoor and outdoor applications, Eclipse can be used on a variety of ant species, including acrobat, crazy, Argentine, bigheaded, ghost, field, thief, harvester, pavement, pharaoh and odorous house ants.

“With ant problems continuing to increase, Eclipse will prove to be an asset to PMPs seeking solutions for their ant management business,” points out John Neberz, national business manager, Zoecon Professional Products.

Containing the active ingredient hydramethylnon in a bait attractant accepted by multiple ant species, Eclipse offers an efficient, slow-acting effect that gives target species plenty of time to carry the bait back to the nest to destroy the queen and entire colony. Eclipse is compatible with liquid ant baits, and can be used in total ant efficacy programs.

“Because it works on multiple ant species, Eclipse is especially appealing to PMPs. However, it is also versatile, providing excellent efficacy against other pests, like crickets, firebrats and silverfish,” explains Neberz.

For indoor applications, Eclipse can be used to treat residential areas, such as crack and crevices, structural voids, behind electric switch plates, unfinished attics and crawlspaces. The product is also effective in non-food areas of institutional, warehousing and commercial establishments.

Eclipse is suitable for a variety of outdoor ant management situations, including crack and crevice, perimeter and broadcast applications for residential lawns, landscaped areas, nurseries, ornamental and non-food-bearing nursery stock, golf courses, sod farms and non-cropland areas.

“Eclipse is an ideal choice for indoor and outdoor ant management, because it contains multiple food ingredients that are attractive to many kind of ants,” notes Doug VanGundy, Zoecon product development manager. “The diverse granule size allows the product to be carried by both the smallest and largest ants.”

Eclipse is available in containers sized for convenience, including a refillable 10-ounce service container, as well as six-pound and 25-pound bulk containers that can be used for large jobs or to refill the service containers. For added convenience, the 10-ounce and six-pound containers have shaker tops for easy product application.
