RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. — The EPA recently amended the OvoControl G label for resident geese. In response to requests from wildlife management professionals, Innolytics revised the label to enhance the use and utility of the product.
Noteworthy label changes include the following,
- The definition of an “urban area” has been removed and left to the discretion of the applicator.
- The window for consuming OvoControl bait has been shortened to 30 minutes, consistent with bird behavior and reducing observation time.
- The non-target wildlife section has been simplified.
- Redundant observation requirements have been eliminated.
- The acclimation period has been condensed.
- Redundant record keeping has been eliminated.
OvoControl G is presently registered for use in resident geese and ducks. The product effectively controls egg hatchability and essentially represents non-hormonal, oral contraception for birds.
