Nisus Corporation is now handling the sales, marketing and distribution of Termistop products for pest management professionals (PMPs).

The apertures of the mesh are too small for termites to squeeze through and the mesh is too hard for termites to chew through. Termistops are attached to plumbing, electrical and other foundation penetrations prior to the cement foundation being poured.

“With the dramatic growth in the green building industry and our leadership position with green builders, we felt this would be a tremendous opportunity for our Bora-Care pretreaters to have an add-on sale,” explained Kevin L. Kirkland, president/CEO of Nisus Corporation.

Earn More Green Building Points
“Builders are looking for Green Points, whether they are using the LEED for Homes rating systemEarthCraft or the new NAHB Green Program,” says Lee Barrett, Nisus’ new director of business development and international sales, who also leads the Builder Division for the Rockford, Tenn.-based manufacturer. “The combination of Bora-Care termite pretreatments and the Termistops can earn builders 1.5 points with Leeds, 6 to 8 points with EarthCraft and 8 points with the NAHB Green program. This puts our PMPs in a great position to deliver green points to the builder at a great value.”

How to Use Termistops
Before the cement foundation is poured, Termistops are installed on all foundation penetrations and secured to prevent termites from using the pipes as an entry into the home. The Termistop units come in a number of sizes and shapes to cover plumbing penetrations and bath traps. When the site is finished, the cement can then be poured.
