GREENSBORO, N.C. — A trial date has been rescheduled for July 5, 2011 in BASF’s patent-infringement lawsuit against Makhteshim-Agan Industries Ltd. over its plans to sell insecticides using the chemical fipronil.

BASF, in complaints filed in federal court in North Carolina on April 16, 2010, claims Makhteshim would infringe patents that cover technology used in Ludwigshafen, Germany-based BASF’s Termidor insecticide.

Bayer CropScience, which exclusively licenses two of the patents to BASF, is named as an additional plaintiff in the suits.
