According to pest management professionals (PMPs) surveyed in a 2011 poll published last year by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), the breakdown of ant species most often treated is lead by carpenter ants, followed by odorous house ants and pavement ants respectively.
Fifty-four percent of the same PMPs agreed that ant infestations are on the rise. Reasons cited by that 54% include: new species (44%), increase in moisture (27%) and changing pest control practices (22%).
The most commonly ant-infested locations, according to the same survey:
Office buildings: 88%
Restaurants: 83%
Apartments: 82%
Single Family Homes: 80%
